The house on Larchwood Avenue today, is derelict in contrast to the better maintained homes in the West Park neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. The house looks ominous, sinister, and sorrowful, to any passer-by. But to these who have dwelled inside its evil walls, the house stands as a portentous reminder that something much darker dwells among the living. The house itself is not a dwelling that I would call haunted so much as infected. There is an ominous tension in the atmosphere. One can feel it simply walking in the door. The infection seems benign at first. Little things go missing, odd and unexplainable things happen. So much so, that you begin to question your own reason and judgment. The infection slowly builds toward the cataclysmic destruction of self, stability, and even sanity.
