Epicenter: Ashen Remains Book 1

One minute the city is full of life and in the next nothing remains. In place of buildings, there are crumbling ruins. City streets are now cracked and broken, the cars upon them remain as little more than rusted junk. The park's house desiccated husks of what used to be plants or trees and the ground that should be home to vibrant grass and animals are no more than a barren wasteland. No life seems to escape the destruction as bodies dot the landscape. Nearly all have withered away to nothing, completely drained of all life as one might wring out a towel. Finally, there was the ash, which coated everything in a thick layer. While one might think this to be the end, it is only the beginning. In a moment everything changed, the veil separating the natural from the supernatural vanished and unleashed something that can only be referred to as The Black Storm. A storm of Ash springs up sporadically to reduce entire cities to nothing. Mort struggles to come to terms with what has happened as his path crosses with others who have survived in the wake of the chaos.
