The Marionette Mansion of Millerton, Illinois has a large collection of dolls ranging back to the 1800’s. This, however, is not the museum’s main attraction. Known to the locals as the “Doll House", patrons flock to the attraction to witness the cursed dolls. The resident artifacts of this large, eerie property move on their own, blink their eyes and crane their necks to follow visitors who pass by. The sound of disembodied footsteps, doors creaking, and power outages often accompany the unsettling manifestations of the mansion. But no harm has ever come to visitors of the Doll House, so no one fears the local haunt. In fact, they embrace it.Elle and Kat, two high school students living in Millerton, take on the task of managing the Marionette Mansion as an after-school job. Although a little apprehensive at spending so much time in the dynamic house whose doings they cannot control, they eventually learn to anticipate the Doll House’s actions and complete their duties accordingly. That is, until the expected phenomena turn dark, malevolent. The Doll House is lashing out, but why? Years later, the girls’ lives converge and return them to face this notion. The ties from their childhood hold firm, and they need to cut free of them before it is too late.
