Pit’s life spun out of control after making a terrible discovery at her Aunt Maggie’s house. The hand released her ankle and dug into the wooden floorboards. Another hand shot out and splintered wood split as more claws dug in on either side of Pit. The face drew closer, a long porcelain neck stretching back far into the shadows of the hole. There was still no body, only arms and a face. Pit watched in terror, unable to move or look away as the face drew close to hers. She could feel the rhythmic pulsing of stagnant breath and smell the pungent odor of earth and rot. The perfect heart shaped lips widened in a smile and the sparkling Bette Davis eyes rolled back and went black as tar."
