It takes a lot of work to confuse and divide your subjects, which is why the Empress has delegated that duty to her EIS. Only right now, it's most critical mission is in the hands of James Damon, a known quid fiend with a penchant for killing royals.Damon desperately needs some time off, but instead, he has to clean up the mess made by the unfortunate Prince of Galleria. The Prince has been executed and maybe not for the best reasons, although he did sleep with his sister, start a war, and attract the attention of a powerful force beyond the walls. This "force" is trying to find her way in the world, which wouldn't be such a big deal if she didn't have the power to destroy it --with really big bugs, that eat human flesh and can only be killed by disciplined soldiers with imperial pikes. Damon has his hands full... He also has an obsession with death, smokes too much herb, and everyone he's ever truly loved has been killed by the creepers. He's having a hard time keeping himself together, which is why this might not be the best time to try to save the Empire. Fortunately, Damon can turn to a higher power when he's in distress, unfortunately, it rarely ever works, mostly because it's just another convoluted narrative created by the EIS to keep the populace in line. Working for the EIS is a dirty business but they have the best gear, one hell of a pension plan and they are pretty good about reimbursing for expenses.
