About the Author

Stephen Swartz grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, where he was an avid reader of science-fiction and quickly began emulating his favorite authors. Even after veering from science-fiction, his stories usually feature exotic lands and foreign languages, strangers lost in familiar places, and the occasional breakfast menu. Along the way, Stephen studied music in college and worked at a wide range of jobs: from French fry guy to soldier, tax agency clerk, and TV station writer, before heading to Japan for several years of teaching English. Stephen is now a Professor of English and has taught writing in New York, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Oklahoma, as well as China. He lives in Oklahoma, where he can be found working on his next novel most evenings and weekends.
