After spending her final years preventing a marriage between her daughter Daphne and the notorious Marquess Lindley, Isadora Harkwell, now a ghost, can only save her soul by coordinating the match
From Library Journal
When her mother unexpectedly dies on the day of her wedding and her new husband, Iain Ashingford, the Marquess Lindley, walks out without explanation, Daphne copes, then rebels, with highly "spirited" results. The plot is clever, the heroine engaging, and Daphne's ghostly mother wickedly scene-stealing; and although the story would have benefited from less self-conscious and more polished writing, readers may still find it charming reading.
