Set in the mid 1600s in Seville, Spain , a tale of religious persecution and the occult. Young Diego Malasangre leaves his country life against his mother's wishes. Almost 14 years of age, he wants to find his way in the world. He encounters a strange couple along the way and becomes enraptured in their world. Dona Carlotta and her companion Melaku the Ethiopian, have a profound effect on Diego. With the ever present threat of the Church, Diego finds himself in a fight for his life and his soul. Demons and priests, murder and treachery, none are what they appear to be.

About the Author

Shariyah Levvi is a performing artist and hails from Chicago, Illinois. She holds a B.A. in Arts and Entertainment Management from Columbia College. An accomplished songwriter and lyricist, she has entertained audiences globally. The author of "Requiem in the Desert " this is her second novel.
