Based on the popular short story, Magic Shop, available on Kindle. Screenwriter Nicole Farnsworth was a Hollywood sensation until the 2007 Writer's Strike. So what happened? Well, she didn't sit on the couch and eat bon-bons all day. No, Nicole decided to search for her birth family, but all she has is a name and a date. She relocates to Marquette, Michigan with her young adult daughters (no, the girls did NOT ask every five minutes, "Are we there yet?") As Nicole starts the investigation, she runs into problems. The hospital refuses to give birth information. A dark haired woman wants her leave town and never return. More on those in a bit. First the good stuff! Nicole meets a trucker, a handsome, rugged man capable of taking charge in the bedroom. You probably dream of meeting the guy for real: the strong, silent type who will make love for hours, draw your bath in the morning, and then rustle up bacon and eggs for breakfast. (Um, where is he??? I want one!) She also discovers a shop that sells mystical relics, fantastic objects, and curious goods. The shopkeeper gives her keys to an old Victorian mansion. Nicole, along with her daughters and the trucker, enter to find ghosts and haunted objects. Who are the ghosts? What do they protect? Is there a buried treasure? What secrets will the mansion reveal?
