No such thing as Heroes

The king is dead, and when he went so did his vice like grip on power within the continent. His young and unexperienced heir Jonah may be forced to take the reigns of rulership before he's ready, but whether he'll wrestle control of the continent back from restless vassals before the kingdom of his father falls apart is uncertain, and even less certain is whether he'll survive his own rule. One such restless vassal is Hamish Disglaire, though he doesn't have nearly enough power to be a nuisance for Jonah, however through his own skills in manipulation, lack of morals and a healthy dose of paid thugs. he very much intends to gain that power, innocents be damned. One who could stand in his way might be Arron, one of the late king's personal guards, though Arron is no innocent, and while he considers himself a religious man who stands by king and country, one would be hard pressed to find a man more drenched in sin and hypocrisy. The world seems to stand on a knife's edge, about to topple over into the void of death and despair that populates known history. But then again, what is the death of a few thousand compared to one's ambitions?
