Ethan is an aspiring actor living in Los Angeles. It's a big city, but he has formed a life like many do with most of his interactions being self-absorbed industry transactions and text messages. However, his world is soon rocked when he by chance meets a woman named Dahlia. Dahlia is an intoxicating free spirit whose love of the city and the acting craft seem to match Ethan's. They seem to have much in common and yet nothing, a dual edged attraction that cuts straight to Ethan's heart. He is ready to jump right into the adventure of love with Dahlia, but she has other adventures in mind. Ethan promises Dahlia to keep their relationship casual and she opens up to him about her extreme interests, not only in classic monster movies, but in sexual role playing scenarios based off of them. Before Ethan knows it he has role after role of a lifetime in her bedroom and finds himself going way outside of his comfort zone waving his freak flag vigorously. As the "monster game" and their relationship progresses, Ethan seeks a way to win and get their relationship to the next level, all the while becoming aware of surfacing secrets and the escalating dangers in the game that they are playing.
