Sheila the Vampire: Dancing with the Enemy: Her MisadventuresSheila is forced to marry a wealthy minister to save her impoverished family; fortunately, he soon passes. With his death she feels her prospects are improving. She is self-sufficient and will be able to marry whomever she chooses. This good fortune changes on the night of the full moon, a vampire clan attempts to force her to become one of them. She kills the clan leader and his second in the process while remaining part human. She is coerced into becoming the mistress of what is left of the clan, a single minion, Naomi, whom Sheila must now care for. Sheila begins her life as a vampire. Her initial attempts at getting blood are disastrous and she is captured. She must use her cunning to escape. Because she is only half-vampire her bite comes with special healing properties, therefore she is the target of those who want to take advantage of her healing power. Her blood allows other vampires to be resistant to the cross, holy water, garlic, and the sun, thus other clans are after her as well. To hide from her enemies, Sheila takes the persona of her departed husband, Henry James, and then goes into exile in Ireland. While in exile she becomes acquainted with one of the hunters, a Mister Jones. She develops feelings for him, but how can she get to know him better without being staked? Since she is compelled to seek blood during the full moon; she is soon discovered and hunters flood the area and Ireland is no longer a safe place to live.Sheila determines that the only solution is to find the witches that created vampires to begin with; and use them to turn her and Naomi back into humans. She joins an expedition to Albania to search for the witches. The ship is attacked by pirates and during the battle the crew finds out that Sheila and Naomi are vampires. The two girls are captured and must face the inquisition.Along the journey Sheila and Naomi take on the persona of vampire hunters to hide from those that are pursuing them. Since they are masquerading as hunters, they are forced to fight a rogue vampire clan. They now have more enemies than they had planned on.The two girls finally discover the dark witches. Will the witches turn them back into humans, end their lives or worse yet leave them as vampires.
