She was a lecturer in English for Columbia University, as well as author who producing such notable works as "The Supernatural in Modern English Fiction" and "From a Southern Porch". Emily Dorothy Scarborough (1878 - 1935) was an American writer famous for her work related to Texas, folk culture, cotton farming, ghost stories and women's life in the Southwest.
