Jeff Sanders is given the job of restoring an old house that has been long abandoned. As he goes about his work he experiences a series of strange events. In one of the bedrooms of the old house he finds a diary that belonged to Inga Mueller who was the daughter of the man who owned the house. Through reading the diary Jeff discovers a mystery that can only be uncovered by the help of the ghosts that seem to inhabit the old house. Jeff doesn't believe in ghosts but his experiences lead him on a strange journey into the unknown that eventually leads to a locked room that holds the deepest, darkest secret. This along with two other stories included in this book are the perfect stories to be read around the fireplace this Halloween season.
