The origin of modern day clowns can actually be traced to the Dark Ages and an ancient tribe of nomadic entertainers known collectively as "The Klaun." They had an exceptionally kindhearted and colorful culture, and one of their customs was to dab their noses with a spot of red. Today, this dab of red and many other clowning traditions (some innocent, some nefarious) are derived from ancient Klaun customs. This book contains an interview with Jesper the Klaun, during which Jesper reveals his people's secret origin story as he explains how two factions of Klaun/clowns have secretly been at war with one another for centuries. This clandestine clown war has recently gotten so out of control that Jesper feels compelled to alert society and reveal the existence of the Klaun.
