Saga Of The Wolf Book 2: Season of the Witch

The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once. ~ Albert Einstein. Time spent with cats is never wasted. ~ Sigmund Freud In this, the second book in the series, Saga of Wolf, our heroine, Catalina Bast, attempts to get her start as a private investigator in the surly streets of Chicago. Only two things stand in her way, one Romulus MacBain, and the whims of time. Time . . . Romulus—determined to be at her side no matter what—follows her into the unknown. Guided by the cryptic advice of an old, homeless soothsayer with a food-stained, greasy map, our travelers set off. Time becomes key, but time is fickle. Time waits for no man—or does it? When the adventure ends, Catalina must come to terms with the truth behind her strange connection with Romulus—and the unfolding mystery of their two families’ shared ancient history. Time is running out, and lives are at stake. The old soothsayer, Sylvia, does not find the same stability in time as most people. She is not bound by its rules. As she sees the past, the present, and the future coming together as one, she knows it is the time of the witches. With a call through the ages, she brings them into Catalina’s new reality. The truth must out, but as James Joyce once wrote, “Time is, time was, but time shall be no more.” Time is running out.

About the Author

JJ Gasparin has always known hard work. From his family farm to his job in the local scrap yard as a young man, he had always put his heart, soul, and back into everything he's done. But all work and no play, makes JJ a dull boy, so he played just as hard. In his youth, he was known as a local bad boy. As a young man, he was a person who commanded respect. Never satisfied with the status quo, and ever curious about the world around him, his entire life has been a quest for knowledge. This quest has taken him on the magical mystery tour that is his world. There are few classics he has not read, and fewer experiences he has not had. From experiments with microscopes and microbes, to culinary sciences and food preservation, to artwork and plays he has written and directed, JJ continues his search for knowledge. After taking time out from his latest project--building cigar box guitars--JJ has put on the mantle of author utilizing his vast experience in life to create worlds of adventure. As Cyrus MacVean would say, "Give me a foin bonnie lass, a well-aged scotch, and the air of the highlands. I need little more." ***A C Jeffers was a transplant from Suburban Chicago as a young child. The family had decided Green Acres was the place to be, and farm living was the life for me. It wasn't an easy life, but it was a life of wonder. When you grow up watching the seasons change and the cycle of life, your view of the world is different. You learn about life and death at an early age. You also learn to respect each and every living thing--the honey bee for what it does to procreate crops; the chickens that provide eggs and meat for the table; and the crops and livestock in the fields. Growing up in a small community gave A C a perspective on life and time to write. From an early age, writing was always important, and stories were told while styles were developed. The author is not born but a creation of the world around them. This is my truth.
