The Boy In the Toy Room: An Endless Mountains Ghost Story

Fiction/Ghost "Who's that kid?" "What kid, sweetie?" "That kid, right there. See? In that window way on top. He's waving." Jesse smiled her biggest company smile and waved back. "Nobody here but us chickens," Nora laughed. "You're imagining things." When Nora and Ted decide to leave New York City and return to New Milford, Pennsylvania, they have to come to grips with their past and build a new future together. It's not easy, and they are happy that Jesse, their five-year-old daughter, has an invisible, make-believe friend in the toy room to distract and entertain her. But what if the friend isn't really invisible, or really make-believe? As Nora fights the recent past that haunts her, she is haunted by another past—the past of the boy in the toy room. Is Nora losing her mind, or is there a chance that Jesse's friend is very, very real?

About the Author

Regge Episale was born and raised in the Endless Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. She has a BA from Binghamton University, Binghamton, NY, and an MFA from Hollins University, Roanoke, VA. As a child one of her favorite experiences was listening to ghost stories around the camp fire. Now she listens to real-life ghost stories around kitchen tables and in any social gathering. Her writing includes poetry, songs, memoir, adult fiction, and middle-grade fiction. She loves family friends, animals and good books. She does believe in ghosts.
