Lucifer's Children

Set mostly in (and below) the rugged mountains between North Carolina and Tennessee, this novel features twin protagonists, MAGGIE ELLIS, a prominent Television anchorwoman, and RAMON BARILLAS, a Catholic priest. Both are desperately searching for answers to important questions, and in their individual quests, become unwittingly thrown together in superhuman efforts to thwart LUCIFER himself. Maggie is looking for her former husband and her son, who had disappeared on a flight in a small private plane while en route to a Super Bowl game. The authorities have long given up searching for the missing plane and its passengers, but Maggie knows in her heart that they are still alive, and is determined to find them-especially her very bright, if obnoxious-teenage son. Ramon is searching for the beautiful and mysterious woman who haunts his dreams, tormenting him with lust-and driving him almost to the point of insanity. Both find what they are searching for-but at a terrible price. Eventually, they learn that they have become small chess pieces; playthings, for Lucifer's whimsical games, and in the process, they discover what ultimate sacrifice really means. Nevertheless, united, they manage to find what they seek. And so, do the forces of good triumph over the evil legions of Lucifer? At least this time? At the climax of this trip into the fantastic, you will find out for yourself.
