When Arana, a moderately attractive adopted girl with no dating experience, arrives in the French-speaking community of Fort Kent, Maine, for her first semester of college, she becomes suspicious when she receives the attentions of several alluring men. Unbeknownst to her, many of them are vampires. Scared and alone, she reluctantly confides in her young French professor, Étienne, about her newfound ability to speak foreign languages fluently. Through the super sensitive hearing that she also develops, Arana discovers she is being stalked. Arana must decide whom she should trust with her many new secrets, before she, too, evolves into a stalker, or even a murderer.
