This book contains four stories of horror from the mind of author Darin Wagner. First, we meet comic book professional John Boyle, who writes the monthly adventures of his favorite super-hero, Captain Steel. Mr. Boyle now suddenly finds that he is the most important man in the world; as his vast trivial knowledge of the Man of Marvels is mankind's only defense against a powerful and grotesquely familiar terror. Next, drop in on a young high school student's interview with the dean of admissions at a prestigious school-of-the-future, who is hell bent on keeping him from attending. Third, we peer into the personal journal of a parochial grade school guidance counselor, and his concerns over a rather odd little boy... who chills him, right down to the marrow in his bones. Finally, we join the crew of the nuclear submarine Walleye, as they struggle to get a bearing on what has happened to the world around them in their absence while at sea. Author Darin Wagner is a United States submarine veteran and University of Wisconsin graduate. In addition to writing prose fiction, he is the creator of the superhero graphic novel Hyper-Actives, currently available through Amazon.
