You have seen them before or at least sensed them. A motion out of the corner of your eye and you turn and nothing is there. A faint buzzing sound in your ear or a light touch on your face that seems to be nothing, but you know it must have been something. They are Shiverlies. They are all around us. They survive by hiding themselves from us. They are no threat to you or to me unless you happen to be one of those few who can really see them. That is the one thing they cannot tolerate; discovery.I have found the diary of a doctor named Michael Evans who learned about the Shiverlies and who wrote as much as he could before these creatures found out what he was doing. I am reproducing his diary here. Please do not worry. I am convinced that they cannot detect it when we talk about them or even when we write about them. You are safe so long as you make no effort to actually see them. Only then are you in danger. It is safe to read these words. But you must not go looking for the evidence of what you are reading. I believe if we tell the right people, if enough people believe us, something can be done to protect those who are in danger. Something can be done to save Michael Evans. We must do something. Before it is too late for him. And for all the rest of us.
