The Nuum Persecution continues the epic fantasy that began with the Nuum Desecration. As regent of Rhowiinor, Syndorreal must now face the rigors of governing the secret kingdom while faced with growing persecution of the common people his clan is sworn to protect. The persecution of any common Nuum who commits the crime of desecration against the Ancients intensifies, as the new supreme Priest, Martuundreal, imposes the penalty of death. Young Ancients destined to become priests must execute at least one desecrator before they are ordained, and all Nuum is gripped with fear that the zealots will annihilate their loved ones. Furthermore, Syndorreal and his clan endure deadlier encounters with the vyyr, the creatures that inhabit the western wasteland where miners mine the coveted white crystals. Syndorreal must decide to expose his secret clan to the rest of Nuum or remain isolated as Martuundreal and the Ancients build an army with plans to annihilate the regent’s home village of Anlorean.
