Stepping into the domain of the painter, Mary is at first nervous to undergo the process of what he refers to as "immortalization." In speaking to him about his philosophies, challenging her perceptions of herself in the process, she settles in and is ready to have her image forever emblazoned on one of his many canvases. Once the painter begins, only then does she learn the horrific truth about what it means to be immortalized by him."Immortalization" is a short horror story delving briefly into the concept of legacy and aims to leave the reader chilled by the end of it, unable to look at paintings in the same way ever again.
