Mythology tells us that a woman named Pandora released everything evil and bad into the world. This one act play explores that tale in its expanded version. Tess and Cailey are best friends. When Tess becomes ill and is scheduled for surgery, Cailey stays in the hospital with her. They are approached by a weird, hag-like woman who presents them with an empty box. A candy striper calls it a Dream Casket and tells Tess that she needs to put her wishes in it. This leads to a complicated encounter between Cailey, to whom Tess entrusts the box; Anisedora, who is the embodiment of Pandora; and Rienquemort, an eerie personification of Death. Confronted with a life and death choice, we discover what Tess has left in the box.
