Auto mechanic Davey Axton had serious doubts about going to work for Doctor Karshton, zombie slave master, at his mountain compound high above the small town of Tusk, Oregon. The Electro-Thrall zombies the doc used to work his corn crops were supposedly harmless, but still, the idea of working and living in the midst of a bunch of walking dead people was disturbing, to say the least. And, to make matters worse, Doc Karshton wanted Davey to go along with his zombie gunmen on "night ride" robberies in town. Davey was no criminal, but it looked like taking the job might be the only way he could be near the girl he loved, even if she couldn't love him back. This is the first installment of a serialized novel. The story is continued in Electro-Thrall, Book Two: The Revenant, published July 2012, and completed in Book Three, Caleb's Revolt, due July 2013.Length: 7,650 words.
