Alice Page served the Cultwick Empire as an operative, tracking down, retrieving, and killing dangerous individuals for her government. When she was tasked with reclaiming the heretic, Erynn Clover, Alice lost her life, but her death came to an end when the Carrier Plague inadvertently revived her. Following her death, the empire began to change, but not to her liking. Given a second chance at her life, she must adjust to a rapidly evolving environment and determine if her god’s hand had a role in reviving her. Viola Arkmast became the new empress following her mother’s death, and she is responsible for many of the changes occurring in the new Cultwick Empire. Forced to ally herself with individuals she’d rather not, Viola took the empire from her malevolent mother during the Carrier Plague. Now that Cultwick is in her hands, she must decide what to do with that power.
