Ghosts of the Indian Trail describes the history of the City of Chicago from prehistoric times forward, along one major roadway - Archer Avenue - which was once an ancient Indian trail that crossed the Chicago Portage. Many ghosts have been reported by many everyday people in places all along this roadway. The names of these ghosts and their true stories may never be known, but putting their deaths in an historical context gives some idea what hardships they - like so many other people - had to face during the times in which they lived.
