As she presses through the wild, however, "Bobby" stumbles upon an ancient entity that transforms pawns of war into its own agents instead. Brutal injuries, debilitating sickness, and the growing Lovecraftian threat of "The Maw" test not only Bobby's will to survive, but her grasp on sanity itself.
