At the request of her uncle Shyenne de la Angelino, her identical twin, Shaylenne and their cousins teleport to an isolated town in Arizona where a local shaman and several Kachinas disappeared under mysterious circumstances. As the investigation progresses, Shyenne befriends a Kachina and walks into a trap to locate the missing people. Underestimating the witches abilities, Shy is immobilized before she can free everyone. While held captive, she learns of the witches’ plan to resurrect an Aztec god, using magical power siphoned off the incarcerated beings. The Nez Perce Coven is unable to locate her. She wreaks havoc with her captors, when she’s conscious. With the full moon, Shy escapes, briefly, but is kidnapped by the witch performing the ritual as he needs her magic to reincarnate the god. This novel describes the history of Shyenne’s mixed heritage and family, as well as the evolution of their magic and the Morning Salutation. In between searching for missing shamans and Kachinas, Shyenne deals with her grandfather attempting to arrange her marriage, Malachi and Dylan’s magic being released and her and Shay performing a vision quest.
