Shadow Souls (The Mal' Ak Cycle)

Welcome to the south, the hidden center of occult America. A wild land where tales of gods and demons, werewolves and shapeshifters whisper though old growth forests. A world where magic is as likely as the Tree of Life. This is Eli Seven Crow’s world, a world that he has both loved and hated for the two hundred years. A world he doesn’t understand. Because though it’s intent on killing him it won’t let him die. He’s experienced the cruel history of America, and fought against the crushing grip of the Mahan Group. An ancient secret society who’s founders are the reason humans fear the dark. To those few that have heard stories of him he is a fantasy superhero. To those that haven’t he’s a shadow, a nothing, a face in the crowd.Until he saves Keezie Stockman. The swirling mystery she’s knotted up in binds him as tight as cords, and soon he realizes it’s not her mystery at all. It’s his worst nightmare…

From the Inside Flap

You know that feeling you get when you pick up a book, and it speaks to you? This is "that book" for me. The "first people"/ancient american element of the book, unique and well developed characters, along with the incredible descriptions kept me wanting to flip to the next page. Although a work of fiction and fantasy, the book is riddled with several life lessons that will encourage us to become better people. I found myself in some of the scenarios described in the book saying "this could really happen." "Who is my Shadow Soul?"Christopher Nooner has a unique and addictive writing style. If he had not mentioned that this is his first book, I would have assumed he had written several novels. Similar to other great novels of our time, It is evident that Mr. Nooner puts his heart and soul into his writing, and I could feel in page by page. This book is not just a bunch of meaningless words. It appears that the author hopes we will contemplate and revisit these words for many years to come. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series. A. Kaper

From the Back Cover

I was enthralled by this book. The author uses excellent details and imagery. The struggles of both the hero and the heroine are captivating. The action is non-stop after the stage is set. The plot twists are unexpected. It's a unique mix of ancient American lore, mythology, archaeology, 80's cars, and dark creatures. The author has crafted this novel to keep you captivated. This is an excellent book. T. Berry

About the Author

Somewhere along the way I became a writer. I always meant to be but life played its little tricks, taking me farther and farther from the dreams of my twelve year old self. One day I looked up and found that there were piles of poetry, reams of short stories, and screenplays that turned into movies. I even watched my own play performed on stage. And then it happened. I wrote a book.
