Devolved: Survivor's Journal Pt 2 (One Percenter)

BUT I couldn't leave it alone.' 5 stars. Four years have passed since the survivor began writing his journals. Great Britain is no longer a single entity. Wales and Scotland are ruled independently while England is torn apart by civil war. Genocide and ethnic cleansing are the norm, concentration camps are filled with those blamed for the collapse. Word reaches the survivor of a safe place, a town where all are welcome and he sees an opportunity to regain his sanity and civilisation. Leaving behind his nest he sets off on foot to find Haven. Constantly stalked he finds himself battling the demons in his head as well as those made by the collapse of society. In an effort to free himself he traps and kills his stalker and for a time is free. He may have survived the contagion that has decimated the population but finds himself having to cope with physical changes brought on by the new environment. Finding Haven he learns that all is not as it appears, in this new world everybody has a personal goal. His stalker returns with greater brutality and more insidious methods, he fears he is going insane and resorts to ever more desperate methods of coping. Devolved continues the tale of the survivor and shows that no matter how ordinary or civilised a person is the animal is just waiting to appear.
