King of the Dark Mountain

AN ANCIENT POWER IS ABOUT TO TRANSFORM THE WORLD FOREVER. “Yes they remain, but you do not. Remember how you couldn’t find a living soul around?” He nodded, not trusting himself to speak. “They’re all there, but you’ve moved on. Remember how they call it moving on euphemistically? Now you understand what that means.” The creature said this all in a mocking but overly patient tone, as though the person in front of him was of very low intelligence. Soon very ancient, powerful energy will be released through a portal in Orion’s sword. Two secret organizations are intent on harnessing it to create their own vision of the future. Twins Eleana and Hezekiah McCane must navigate through the maze-like structures of the competing entities and find a way to use the energy to renew the earth and defeat those who would use it to destroy the human race. They are aided in their quest by Professor Theodore Griffin who has uncovered a link between ancient Ireland and Egypt and the upcoming stellar event. On the other side, an evil ancient dream of conquest and destruction is incubating which could already spell the doom of the human race. A new novel by Galili Black that spans great distances of time, space and dimensions to examine the nature of evil and our place in the cosmos.

From the Inside Flap

A fast-paced tale, with a broad scope in place and time. The story unites recent speculation about the link between the Egyptian pyramids and the Orion constellation to an impending transformation of the Orion nebulae. Drawing on many diverse mythic sources, Galili Black has created a modern allegory of good versus evil.

About the Author

Galili Black lives on a small farm in western Kentucky.Through writing, the author hopes to bring attention to the peril that hangs over both humankind and  the natural world. King of the Dark Mountain is intended as a mirror held up to modern culture. It looks at the nature of evil in terms of the gigantic hubris of the ruling elite which propels mindless consumerism, drives the obesity epidemic and degrades the value of ordinary human beings in many other ways as well. The novel is somewhat satirical in that it pushes these modern trends into their most extreme manifestations in order to more closely examine what is being done to all of us. It looks for guidance from lost civilizations and the stars to gain perspective and offer the most fantastic solutions. This was not done so much from a sense that our salvation must come from those sources, but in order  to include them in the narrative. Looking up and looking back seemed a good way to offer the suggestion that we need to change our usual point of view if we want to survive. It was also a way of reminding myself and the reader that we are part of the entire universe both in a temporal and spatial sense and we need to start acting like it.  We need to believe in our value as human beings and start taking better care of the earth and each other. We used to see ourselves as the crown of creation and despite all our missteps and capacity for stupidity and cupidity, we are that still.  All the forces arrayed against us and they are many and formidable which deny this truth must be fought against. So I offer this book as my voice against those who would degrade us, they are the same ones who persist in degrading our home.  To save ourselves and the earth we must recognize the enemy and stop listening to the lies about who we are and what is possible for us.
