"When a mysterious stranger returns to his home in Coney Island after many years, he unintentionally erodes the friendship of two orphaned street kids. The two boys are swept into a magical tale of good and evil, their friendship fading fast, as the stranger tries to fulfill an ancient promise." The screenplay you’re about to read was selected from thousands of scripts as a semifinalist in the most prestigious of screenwriting competitions, the Academy Nicholl Fellowships. It got me my first literary agent and helped in other ways as well. Alas, as it is with most spec scripts, it was never made. “Breakfast in Atlantis” has been on the shelf, collecting dust, for some twenty-five years. It's time for these characters to see the light of day – if not on screen, then in readers' minds.
