The Tall Elf (Tales of Valhanor)

***SHORT STORY*** At the dawning of mankind lived a tribe of elves called the Tryon. For an eon of time had they lived peacefully, and secluded from the world outside of the forest where they dwelt. Then amidst a storm one summer’s night, came a human woman seeking shelter. Welcomed by the elves the woman took close friendship with the village elder before departing. A year later the village is awoken by the screams of an abandoned baby. Melanthius grew up alongside the elves and was tutored in the lore of forestry. But he was never truly accepted by the other elves, and when he came of age, the elder forces him to leave the elf village. So Melanthius, abandoned by all, wonders the forest, searching for his place in the world. There he will gain a power and wreak vengeance upon the elves…. The Tall Elf is set on the island of Valhanor thousands of years before the events in The Chalice of Knowledge (Tales of Valhanor series) and is a back story to Melanthius, a powerful mage that will appear in book 3 of the Tales of Valhanor series.
