Ambrose Bierce believes he has the scoop of his journalistic career. He has uncovered a secret meeting, held in a remote hotel in Mexico, featuring the most notorious people in American history, most of whom are presumed dead. Billy the Kid, John Wilkes Booth, Boston Corbett, and Jack the Ripper, gather for an unholy assembly for an unknown reason.It is 1893 and this strange gathering at a hotel and cantina in Agua Pieta, Mexico, brings out the cynical and snide Bierce. What emerges are a series of ghostly reports and paranormal situations, dispatches from one of the great American literary figures who soon may be as missing and lost as his curious hotel guests.
