The Necromancer and the Purple Knight (Blood and Bone Saga)

After ten years of living in almost complete solitude, Iris was finally ready to leave the Burning Bogs. A mage who wielded death and the bones of the deceased as tools, necromancers like her - or any other practitioner of dark magic - were unwelcome in most places and killed on sight in others. Unlike with her would-be conqueror predecessor, the Dread King, however, some would watch with interest before declaring her an immediate threat to peace. Not due to the goodness of their hearts, but for the curious company she kept: sir Bharlek, the renowned Purple Knight of Garhaln, symbol of hope and righteousness. Was he being controlled by magic? Manipulated? Coerced? They all wondered about what could lead such a virtuous man to follow the vile woman. Her goals suspiciously unrevealed, her past frustratingly unknown and her nature worryingly shifty; the only certainty surrounding Iris was that, whether screamed or whispered, feared or sung about, all would eventually know her name.
