Mad Demon Fox and the Halloween School

Madeline Demona Foxglove, or Mad Demon Fox to her friends (she even has it painted on her scooter!), is a mischievous ten year old ('nearly eleven!') with a passion for annoying her teachers and ensuring the bullies in her primary school get their just desserts. She is loved by her many friends, while everyone else is a little wary of her sharp wit and courage. But when Mad’s friends suddenly start disappearing from Holecrust Primary one after another, the Year 5 girl decides she will have to solve the mystery herself. She discovers along the way that she will have to contend with a demented school caretaker with links to a nearby cemetery and its disused mortuary, as well as a Ghost School burned down years before that may actually become a lot more real than just a recurring nightmare of her father’s. To assist in her battle against zombie gardeners and green-faced mortuary attendants, she has only her rapidly dwindling school friends, a retired Lollypop man, her trusty scooter, and her pizza delivering Dad. Can her Dad's cartoonish yellow car, complete with embarrassing giant plastic phone on its roof, really help save the day? Especially when it comes to a highway duel with a massive, deadly hearse? But in discovering the secret of the Halloween School, MDF may also learn some crazy things about her own family, and ultimately, about herself!
