The Cello

The Cello

Drew and Julia Morgan just made two life-changing purchases. The first was their new home in Brighton, Michigan. The second was an old cello they found in an Ann Arbor antique store. Both home and cello will introduce the Morgans to a spiritual world normally just out of sight of the living. Drew senses something strange in the home and begins seeing apparitions—visions soon shared by Julia. As for Julia, she begins playing hauntingly sad music on her cello, despite only being able to play by sight-reading. Something terrible once happened in the Morgan’s new home—and they may be the only ones who can put matters right. As the Morgans are swept into a mystery a century and a half in the making, the couple unearths evidence of a long-forgotten crime and a doomed love. Acts of violence and compassion are about to bubble up from the past—with unpredictable results. A stirring tale of supernatural heartache, The Cello draws its inspiration from real-life paranormal experiences that ask you to consider who walks the halls of your own home—and why?

About the Author

Lyndon Morgan was born in South Wales in Great Britain. He received a bachelor of science from Imperial College London, where he developed a healthy respect for logic and a skeptical attitude toward religion. His main interests are math, engineering, and science, although music plays an integral part in his life. At age twenty-seven, Morgan moved to the United States, where he now works in the automotive industry. The move led to life in an older house in Brighton, Michigan, where his devotion to atheism was shaken. There he and his wife experienced multiple paranormal encounters that defied logic. Unable to explain the luminous young woman who appears in his home or the other apparitions who surround her spiritual play, Morgan decided to write The Cello, an attempt to at least bandage the wounds his experiences left in his neat, mathematical, and rational world.
