"You don't believe me..." "No, I don't! DO you have any idea how crazy this sounds? Vampyres only exist in books and movies," she yelled at him. "And I've seen you in the daylight!" "Those are merely stories and old wives tales, this is reality," he responded, his voice dropping a few tones. "Reality does not involve vampyres!" she yelled. "Then it must be by some miracle that I ve been alive for these hundreds of years!"

1 Strange things are apt to occur in the twilight hours; wicked things, frightful things and sometimes heinous things. This particular nightfall is no exception Our twilights are intricately woven together by the hands of Fate with tightly packed stitches that seal each gap, but some have the ability to slip through the stitches in time. Some can find the breach, no matter how small, and slide through the unintended opening. They leap from one point in time to another without anyone noticing otherwise, save a few. They are called porters, and if that porter happens to be in league with the darkness it would be wise for you to kneel before your humble Lord and beg for mercy, for certainly the darkness can get to us all. Most noticeably a person will die a tragic death when a porter such as this has crossed over. One might say that this night s coming darkness shall be the strangest of strange evenings, because on this very eve the stitches in time are about to be altered Grantlund Conor MacNessa, named after the very first of his line, King Conchobar, was in a state of obscurity. His mind was overrun by the darkness, the blackness being so substantial that he had difficulty returning to the light. It would occur from time to time and when he would awaken, he could not recall what had transpired. He thought perhaps that he was unconscious during this lapse in time, yet he always returned home satisfied. His yearning, his hunger had been mollified for the time being. This extraordinarily deep level of his subconscious was subversive. He knows not what he is like in this state, but it frightens him to think of it, to speak its very nature. It happens in the blink of an eye. He cannot tell his Master. He cannot tell anyone. He has become something else now
