Protector: Book 2 of the Old Tyme Religion Series

A parish priest who wants nothing more than to bring joy to his community. An office worker dealing with her recurring nightmares. A homeless man with no connections to the world save for the payphone on the corner of the street. Unbeknownst to society, they are Protectors, a group of warriors tasked by fate to guard the location of the most dangerous book of magic ever written. One by one, they are being slaughtered. Daniel Wrenfield is the last wizard. He seeks any information connected to the book they guard, hoping to find it and use it in his war of vengeance against the entity who slew his wife. His companion, the demon known as Redde, has plans for the book himself and they don’t include Daniel getting his hands on it. Working in the shadows, Redde gathers an army together, preparing to stand against anyone who would try to obtain it. Wilbur Jenkins, a young boy growing up in the slums of Detroit, knows nothing of this world of Protectors and wizards. The life he’s lived has been hard, but normal. However, when a girl with magic powers breaks into his home, he’ll find himself thrown directly into the midst of it all and discover that fate has chosen him to be a Protector as well. What will happen when Wilbur’s path places him between the wizard’s quest for vengeance and Redde’s gathering army? Find out in Protector!
