Donnie Battle, an Advocate of the Holy is a warrior protecting Earth from the demonic forces of Hell in Manhattan. Despite the title, the importance is minimal as he prefers a little dose of rum and coke and an eventful rendezvous with a lady. Oh, and he also moonlights as an enforcer of a criminal organization to keep the bills in check. The struggle is real for such a handsome African American ex convict with multiple felonies. Now, a number strange reoccurring suicides have plagued the city and all fingers point to involvement of Hell. But as Donnie digs deeper, he finds the answers are dreadfully more painful and personal than expected. Even combined with his powerful abilities, the wisdom of his Advocate mentor, and his criminal contacts, danger becomes imminent and unavoidable and Donnie will be forced to decide if he believes in humanity enough to save it.
