Take a psychedelic trip through the twisted side of Hollywood, where two up and coming writers move to Los Angeles to follow their dream – writing the best movie ever written. The studio sets the pair up in the perfect house, which was previously owned by Tom Mix, Tinseltown’s first superstar cowboy. In Hollywood, everyone is in "the business", and the studio has high hopes for the two new writers. But unknown to this pair of misfit writers, their dreams soon turn to nightmares. First, there's something hiding in the closet, then, the awful crying in the walls, and now one of them is acting strange. Terrified, one thinks the other must be going crazy – but could his insanity extend to the house they are renting, or is it the work of a demented serial killer? As the studio eagerly awaits the completion of their work, one must convince the other to leave this place before the powerful Ghost of Tom Mix reaches through time to drive him insane. I can only describe The Ghost of Tom Mix as "the definitive Hollywood horror story", noting that almost everything in the book is ghoulish. By using such elements as drug addiction, serial killers, and a collection of varied ghost stories, we weave a story from cheap sarcasm, tabloid headlines, Hollywood history and humor.
