The ropes burned Jessie's arms as she twisted against them. She knew she should stop fighting with it,but she just wasn't ready to give up. Giving up meant accepting this as her fate. She guessed the ropes were a little easier to get out of than that awful chain. At least it gave her hope that she could try to escape from it. Jessie had hurt herself pretty badly trying to escape those chains. Her small frame and young age were no match for them. She just knew in her heart that she was going to break free from this dark prison she had been held in for so long. If she would give in and accept 'his' way, she wouldn't have to stay tied up. If she would only tell him yes, he is right and she will be a good little wife, she would be free like the others. But at just twelve years old, Jessie was in no way ready to be any kind of wife, let alone a good one! As a tear falls down Jessie's face, her mind takes her back to a safe time, before she knew what this place really was.
