A small raven-haired girl with crystal-blue eyes named Killani Sepulcra leans on the window pane and sighs heavy. She winces and rubs her leg gently. The harnesses holding her legs are too tight again, but she knew it was for the best. Papa always said, ?Fate took your legs, but it didn't take your life. You have a lot to be thankful for, young lady.? Again she sighed as she watched the neighbor?s children playing in the olive grove beside the fairway. How she longed to feel the sun on her face, to smell summer filling her nose, and to run?she wanted that most of all. Little did she realize that she would get her wish granted. Little did she know what price she would pay to be a normal girl.
