When a stranger comes to visit the tavern, The Drunken Bumblebee, the patrons try to tell him that the dragyn on Mt. Savvy is not to be tampered with. But with unusual fervor for one so small, the stranger assures them that he will slay this dragyn, or die in the effort. Thunder, the Mt. Savvy dragyn, lies atop his hoard, bored and anxious for a fight. He can hardly believe his good fortune when the shadow appears at the mouth of the cave. In a short while, a special conversation transpires between the stranger and the dragyn and a devious plot is unveiled.
