About the Author

Robert Wingfield, ex-engineer, ex-techie, ex-IT, left the world of industry in 2013 to start writing down some of the many ideas buzzing around in his head. This is the third in the Ankerita series, written as Gothic horror, but in contrast, the books of the Dan series are dedicated to comic satire and a type of science fiction without the 'beep beep, fire main boggle-farts' associated with standard sci-fi/fantasy books. His real science is (mostly) based on the projection of current trends and what might happen, albeit set in different universes. Then again, the Starfire books are wholesome adventures for older children and adults who enjoyed the Swallows and Amazons stories, and the recent film. Mucking around in boats is only the background for the adventures. Very popular are the One Man in a Bus series. These are lighthearted diaries of guided tours around various islands in the Mediterranean. They are not 'Lonely Planet' guides, but are hopefully amusing samples of what you can expect in those particular locations.
