Life is all too mundane for Braith Leberecht in the strict and very religious remote town of Lasburg. Almost everything is controlled by the church authority and nothing is hidden from the eye of the all powerful Abbot. One day while in church Braith meets the beautiful and mysterious Finna, who invites him to break the rules of the town and sneak off that night. Braith soon finds out that Finna is a witch and she teaches Braith the ways of witchcraft and the old religion. The two of them sneak off together to practice their new craft and soon they fall in love. When a witch hunt ensues they must evade the townspeople, deceive the church and find a way to fight back against just about everyone.
