"The devil will get you!" is the phrase that kept Maggie afraid enough to obey all her father's commands. Now Maggie is an adult with children. Her husband abandoned her and her family is now haunted by ghosts who Maggie believes is the devil coming to take her away for her sins. Maggie's daughter, Lyndsie, who is not only terrorized by the demons but is also physically injured, doesn't fully believe in the devil. At four years old she is prepared to challenge her grandfather's notion that a devil can punish a person for being happy.
