This book is the fifth in the Young Merlin series and finds him haunted by Annie's disappearance. Meanwhile with Moya seriously indisposed Asgard is appointed Keeper of the Universe so that Merlin can take charge of the Endeavour. There he is forced to use magic in subversive fashion and regrets his decision. Only the knowledge that his post is temporary keeps him relatively sane. Fickle as ever, destiny intervenes and he come across the book he searched for on Wrath in his old quarters aboard the Endeavour. With luck 'The Alchemists Guide to Longevity' would help him in his quest to bring Annie back to Wrath.
