Helping the dead is easy, it’s the living that makes it difficult.Life as a rescue medium isn’t as glamorous as you might think. It’s not as difficult either, until the living get involved.I was asked to work with a group of Vietnam War veterans who needed help overcoming their memories and crossing over to the other side. One Marine, scarred inside and out by his service, found it impossible to move past his lost love, the girl who tore his life apart when she left him. With that pain holding his heart hostage, he would never find peace and cross to the other side.In today’s internet-driven world, finding her might not be as impossible as it would have been back in the days of monstrous computers, before the internet became a way of life. And if I did find her, what then?Would she believe her lost love was trying to contact her now, after all these years? Or would she turn her back on him again, sentencing him to an eternity of unrest?Whatever the outcome, there was no way I could say no to helping him. The dead were easy to work with, it was the living that made my work challenging.
